Having built its legacy on the instantly recognisable Goyardine canvas, Goyard now expands its offerings with an exclusive holiday edition. Moving beyond classic hues like Black/Tan and Navy, the French leather goods maker introduces the Capitonnage Goyardine canvas. This jet-black motif carries hints of small white chevrons for a fresh yet familiar twist.
The exclusive new canvas draws inspiration from the upholstery lining of Goyard’s heritage trunks. By bringing this internal detail to the exterior, the house extends a subtle, knowing nod to fans and collectors. The pattern features an intense black that echoes a night sky, while the white chevrons act as miniature stars to illuminate the Goyardine canvas.

To debut the Capitonnage Goyardine canvas, Goyard places the spotlight on two symbolic silhouettes. Firstly, the trapezoidal Saïgon Mini Trunk transforms into a precious jewel box with graphic presence. Then the cylindrical Alto Hatbox Trunk becomes a singular, eye-catching piece from afar. Both forms frame the canvas beautifully, balancing heritage with novelty.
Other styles will also arrive in limited quantities, including the Duchesse Marie-Caroline, Monte-Carlo and Minaudière Trunk. Each one offers its own perspective on the jet-black canvas, while showcasing how structured forms heighten the pattern’s depth and gleam. They also reaffirm Goyard’s dedication to modernising its trunk-making codes.
The exclusive Capitonnage Goyardine canvas blends a slice of trunk-making history with a dash of Parisian starlight. Carried discreetly on the arm, these sculptural jet-black bags offer beauty, heritage and rarity in equal measure. Find out more at Goyard’s duplex flagship at Takashimaya Shopping Centre.
