At first glance, you might think it is the beloved Dustbag. However, look again and the difference becomes clear. This is the new Giorno from Bottega Veneta. Designed by Louise Trotter, the bag plays cleverly with familiarity and surprise.

Initially, the trapezoidal shape, drawstring pulls and the clever loop attachment on the leather sling recall the iconic Dustbag silhouette. Yet a closer examination will reveal a bold shift. A distinctive fold-over flap interrupts the expected lines, adding both visual intrigue and added practicality.

This thoughtful detail also signals a fresh direction for the house. The name Giorno, which translates to ‘day’ in Italian, is a reflection of the bag’s purpose. Trotter imagines it as a resilient and unfussy companion ready for whatever the day may bring. Consequently, it balances Bottega Veneta heritage with quiet reinvention.

Importantly, the Giorno is not meant for special occasions alone. Instead, it thrives in the bustle and spontaneity of daily life. Carry it as a clutch, sling it over the shoulder or wear it crossbody. Measuring 33 cm by 19 cm, it arrives in Intrecciato leather in Fondant or suede in Cloudy Indigo/Gravel with a denim effect.
