When Hedi Slimane took over the reins at Celine, he designed a bag on his very first day at work. The bag in question? The 16. Its inspiration came from the maison’s archive bags, in particular the cropped flap. And its name is an homage to its Parisian address at 16 Rue Vivienne.

The 16 now comes in four sizes and a host of colours and finishes to choose from. Starting with the roomiest option, there’s the large at 37 cm by 26 cm by 15 cm. Next comes Classique (32 cm by 23.5 cm by 13 cm) and small (23 cm by 19 cm by 10 cm).

Finally, the focus of today’s post, the darling Mini 16 that stands at an adorable 17.5 cm by 14 cm by 7 cm. Though small in size, it offers a whole lot of functionality. All thanks to its multiple pockets and compartments that keep your daily essentials organised.

Open its flap via its turn lock closure to reveal two main internal compartments, separated by a zipper pocket. There’s also an inner flat pocket for cards and an outer flat pocket under the front flap for quick-access items. The Mini 16 also scores extra points for versatility. Either carry it by hand using its top handle, or over the shoulder and crossbody with its removable leather strap.

Aside from existing calfskin and croc finishes in classic colours, you can also look forward to additional pastel tones. For a happy dose of colour, consider the Mini 16 in Satinated Calfskin (SGD4650) in two new candy-colour hues. Both Jade and Soft Yellow are gentle tones that act as an antidote to pallid or dark outfits.

And if you prefer something a little more exotic, there’s the Mini 16 in crocodile (SGD35800) that now comes in Light Pink for a pretty pop of colour. Perfect for putting a spring in your step.
