Some bags start on the men’s runway and then resurface in the women’s collection with a fresh perspective. The Dior Médaillon Messenger is a clear recent example. The style first appeared in Dior’s autumn-winter 2026 menswear show in January. Two months later, it returned on the autumn-winter 2026–2027 womenswear runway. A different material, new colours and a more compact size set the two apart.
The men’s version debuted as a boxy, roomy carryall. The hand-embroidered Cannage then used a tweed mouliné technique, with the entire bag crafted from wool and cashmere. On the women’s runway, however, the messenger took a lighter, more compact route. It kept the full-flap shape but traded the knit construction for something entirely different.
The women’s Dior Médaillon Messenger is knitted entirely from sequin-embroidered yarn in a wool-based blend. A tonal médaillon sits hand-embroidered on the front. It features a magnetic flap closure and an adjustable strap with an O signature buckle, allowing either shoulder or crossbody wear. Another new key element is a pale gold-finish chain, turning the workwear-style messenger into a more decorative bag. The sequins, meanwhile, add a shimmer that makes it even more fun.
This is Jonathan Anderson’s approach at Dior. One shape moves between the men’s and women’s collections, with slight changes for each to call their own. The women’s version has officially launched in Singapore in two sizes. The small measures 25 cm by 17 cm, fitting an SLG, phone, sunglasses and beauty essentials. The medium comes in at 28 cm by 18 cm, offering enough room for an iPad and notebook.
The Dior Médaillon Messenger flap bag retails at SGD6200 for the small and SGD6900 for the medium. It arrives in Grey, Grey/Black and Soupir Pink for now. With its sequin shimmer and pale gold chain, it brings a playful edge to one of Dior’s newest silhouettes.
