Hermès delivered a brilliant show at La Garde Républicaine, transforming the storied Parisian venue into a moss-carpeted dreamscape. The fall-winter 2026 showcase leaned deeply into metaphor and reference. One striking look featured an asymmetrical biker-inspired dress in deep blue. Unzipped slightly, it revealed a flash of sky-blue shirting, like daylight peeking through the cover of night.

Of course, no Hermès runway unfolds without a parade of remarkable bags. Amongst the season’s debuts was a sculptural half-moon clutch, with a Médor Watch cleverly doubling as the bag’s hardware. Another standout referenced the Roulis. Reimagined with two-tone Electrum hook-like hardware, the chic flap bag felt fresh while retaining its familiar elegance.

Classic Hermès silhouettes also returned with subtle updates. The Bolide appeared in a new east-west iteration, crafted from a mix of signature Hermès leathers. Meanwhile, the Plume resurfaced in sumptuous Doblis suede. Even the ever-popular Picotin, including its micro version, arrived in glossy Box calfskin that develops a rich patina over time.

Then came the Kelly, one of the show’s highlights with a playful twist. What first appeared to be a Kelly Cargo revealed itself as a removable canvas cover. Buttoned exterior pockets store everyday essentials like a water bottle, quick-access items or even a snack. At the same time, the clever accessory doubles as a stylish travel protector for exotic or Box calfskin Kelly bags.

Similarly, the Bolide received its own Cargo canvas cover this season. Select versions even feature crocodile trimmings that quietly exude sophistication. As with any Hermès collection, however, not every showpiece is destined for the boutiques. Only time will tell which of these inventive designs will eventually join the maison’s storied legacy.
