Since debuting in 2015, Dior Sauvage has become one of modern perfumery’s great signatures. Perfumer François Demachy created the original Eau de Toilette, rewriting the rules of men’s fragrance. The line has since grown into a full family: the warmer Eau de Parfum, smooth Parfum and audacious Elixir. Now, Sauvage Extrait ushers in its most intense chapter yet.

Dior’s perfume creation director, Francis Kurkdjian, conceives the collection’s first extrait de parfum for men. Fresh bergamot, aromatic lavender and the clean, woody warmth of Ambroxan already set the OG apart. His interpretation takes that unmistakable DNA and turns up its concentration, depth and sensuality. The result is denser and woodier than anything in the line to date.
The ingredient that distinguishes Sauvage Extrait is precious Vietnamese oud. Deep and captivating, the rare wood brings warm, animalic and leathery facets to the fragrance. It thus imparts a darker, more mysterious edge. Kurkdjian layers it with smoky Indonesian patchouli, creamy Madagascan vetiver and Virginia cedarwood.
Bergamot and AOP-certified lavender from Provence, meanwhile, provide a flash of Sauvage’s signature aromatic freshness. But depth and potency don’t happen overnight. The composition then undergoes Dior’s maceration process, maturing for 42 days to build exceptional longevity and a powerful trail.
Presented in the line’s signature midnight-blue glass, the bottle further holds a quiet visual trick. A translucent interior lacquer creates the illusion of deep-blue ink suspended in crystalline glass. The CD monogram engraving on the body is repeated on the cap, crowning the vessel with a final flourish.
Retailing at SGD270 for 50 ML, Sauvage Extrait is now available at Dior Beauty boutiques, counters and via the e-store. For anyone looking to experience the scent family at its most intense, this is the chapter to start with.
