For her debut collection as creative director of Givenchy, Sarah Burton paid much attention to the sculptural lines of the new Pinch Bag. But below the hemline, another standout is making waves. Entering from stage left, or right, are the Sliced Square Ballerinas.
Inspired by the form of a traditional pointe shoe, these ballerinas reflect a deliberate duality, balancing delicacy with definition and softness with structure. The squared-off toecap slices clean through the expected curve, creating a bold statement that feels modern and striking. It’s Burton’s way of reframing girlish archetypes into something sharper, cleaner, and unapologetically assertive.
Crafted from calfskin leather with a smooth cowhide lining, the stylish ballet flats offer both both comfort and longevity. A wide elastic strap in black, stamped with the Givenchy Paris leather label in crisp white, adds an audacious finish. Graphic yet polished, it anchors the shoe with both statement flair and effortless practicality.
Offered in two finishes, the flats are ready to pair with everything from jeans to tailoring, or even tulle. Choose from either glossy patent leather (SGD1250) in Black, Deep Red and Powder, or a mirror-effect leather (SGD1350) in Golden and Silvery Grey. Available in sizes 34 to 42, Givenchy’s Sliced Square Ballerinas are available in stores and online.
