Jonathan Anderson’s eponymous label recently launched a new collection of homeware in collaboration with master artisans and traditional craftsmen. In doing so, JW Anderson is turning its sights from blazing the fashion runway to elevating the living space.

Firstly, elevate your dining table with mugs, serving plates and salad bowls from Nicholas Mosse. Each depicts the exclusive blue and white pig motif from the Irish pottery brand’s archives. In a world of uniform, factory-made ceramics, these pieces truly stand out, each bearing subtle imperfections that speak of the human hand that shaped it.

The same reverence for tradition is evident in the set of Irish linen tea towels by Fergusons. Hailing from Northern Ireland, the heritage weaver have made intricate Irish linen from pure flax yarn by hand since 1854. The trio of crisp tea towels feature the words ‘Peach’, ‘Craft’ and ‘Art’ in red, green and blue stripes respectively.

But perhaps the most surprising and delightful collaboration is with Wedgwood. JW Anderson reinterprets a 5th-century Greek ribbed pattern with a fresh, contemporary sensibility. Clean lines and soothing colours quietly acknowledge the past, while firmly looking to the future. The resulting cups wouldn’t look out of place in a museum, yet elevate the simple pleasures of either a morning coffee or afternoon tea.

By turning its attention from runway to homeware, JW Anderson sends an invitation to re-evaluate our relationship with everyday objects. Prices range from SGD170 for a Nicholas Mosse serving plate to SGD600 for a Wedgwood cup.
