Watches and Wonders 2025 has officially come and gone. And while some brands chased after headline-grabbing complications and audacious designs, Rolex delivered a masterclass in quiet evolution. Often seen as the gateway to the Rolex universe, the Oyster Perpetual gets a thoughtful refresh for 2025, solidifying its status as an understated icon of the brand.
The timepiece has always been the everyman’s Rolex, if such a thing exists. Lauded for its unpretentious versatility, it seamlessly transitions from boardroom to gala nights and routine errands. This year, some of the changes include a slimmer clasp and a subtly redesigned case for the 41 MM model. While reducing its bulky appearance, these tweaks also enhance the overall ergonomic experience.

But perhaps the most exciting and certainly the most visually striking update for the Oyster Perpetual lies in the expanded colour palette. Forget the gleaming ‘Tiffany Blue’ of yesteryear, because Rolex is diving into the world of pastels with new matte-finish dials. Beige, a diffused glow of the morning sun; Lavender, a serene purple charm; and Pistachio, the subtle green of a meadow in spring.
This move towards a matte finish is evidence of Rolex catering to increasing desires for a softer, more contemporary aesthetic. The new hues will be available across all five sizes, from the petite 28 MM to the statement 41 MM. Yes, this is currently the only model available in five diameters, with the others at 31 MM, 34 MM and 36 MM.
What hasn’t changed, however, are core elements, such as the 100-metre water resistance, Superlative Chronometer certification, and signature Oystersteel construction. Rolex's Oyster Perpetual stands as a beacon of timeless design, with prices starting at SGD8300 in Singapore.
