Apple concluded its Worldwide Developers Conference 2023 keynote with one of the biggest announcements in years. Marking a new era in computing, the tech giant’s CEO, Tim Cook, unveiled Apple’s very first spatial computer. The Vision Pro is a headset device with augmented reality capabilities that integrate with the physical space around you.
This is possible via the LiDAR Scanner and TrueDepth camera that create a detailed 3D map of your surroundings. Each Vision Pro runs on 4K micro-OLED displays that offer ultra high resolution (23 million pixels, to be specific). The cameras are equally impressive, with a dedicated eye-tracking system that lets you make hands-free decisions.

Combining ambient Spatial Audio and a sophisticated head-and-hand sensor for an immersive experience, Apple’s Vision Pro looks set to become the future of computing. It helps with overall productivity, speeding up processes like editing documents and presentations.
Furthermore, users can collaborate with others via spatial FaceTime, while becoming a digital persona when wearing the Vision Pro. Going beyond the everyday, this augmented reality experience also breaks new ground in the world of education and gaming. True to Apple design, the device stays lightweight and compact, thanks to the use of moulded laminated glass set within an aluminium alloy frame.
Each Vision Pro comes with an adjustable headband boasting thick cushioning and breathability for added comfort for daily wear. There is no word yet on SGD pricing. However, Apple's Vision Pro is slated for a global release in 2024 from USD3499. Who else is ready to embrace the future of augmented reality and spatial computing with Apple?
