Trust creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri to put the map of Paris on Dior’s Spring-Summer 2023 ready-to-wear collection. Officially titled Plan de Paris, the enigmatic motif depicts Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, where Monsieur Christian Dior found his lucky star, as well as the house’s landmark at 30 Avenue Montaigne.
The black-and-white print originated from Dior archives, specifically a scarf created in the 1950s. Today, it gets re-imagined on contemporary pieces like bomber jackets, shorts and full-length skirts. To complement the RTW collection, the Plan de Paris motif comes to life on the iconic Book Tote. The expert artisans at Dior utilise a unique embroidery technique, creating a dreamy 3D-like effect.
Chiuri, who firmly believes in carrying her most personal objects everywhere she goes, calls it one of her favourite creations. This explains why the Large Book Tote goes all the way up to 42 cm by 35 cm, doubling up as a chic carry-on for flights or that weekend staycation.
In Singapore, the black-and-white Plan de Paris embroidery is available in standard and reverse colour options. The small (26.5 cm by 21 cm) and medium (36 cm by 27.5 cm) Book Tote come in at SGD4500 and SGD4700 respectively.

There’s also an equally charming Saddle (SGD5800), which features a removable sling with an adjustable length ranging from 84 cm to 102 cm. In this version, the Plan de Paris motif is printed on smooth calfskin instead. This treatment appears on the handle and strap as well, giving the Saddle a comprehensive look all around.
