To mark 130 years of its monogram, Louis Vuitton skips the obvious. No archival re-release, no fresh coat of colour on a familiar motif. Instead, the maison revisits the original cotton travelling canvases that predated the coated canvas we all know. Reimagined with today’s artisanal precision, the resulting Monogram Emblème may be the most tactile thing Louis Vuitton has produced in recent years.

What sets the new jacquard canvas apart from every other canvas iteration is how it feels. Where the classic Monogram Canvas is smooth and almost lacquered, this one invites touch. Woven from a blend of GOTS-certified cotton and linen, the jacquard has genuine surface depth, a result of careful engineering rather than printing.
Five separately coloured threads interlace to build the motif. This creates shifts in tone and shadow that change, depending on light and angle. Run a finger across the canvas, and the pattern reveals a slight relief. It’s not exactly embossed, but not flat either. The Monogram Emblème is also treated to be water-repellent, a practical touch for a bag meant to be carried often rather than kept and admired.
Two new colourways debut alongside as part of the pre-fall 2026 collection, both drawing from the maison’s proprietary Vuittonnier colour library. Peuplier is warm and sandy, while Rose Ruban leans softer and more romantic, echoing the tone of pale grosgrain ribbon. Two further shades, Monogram Bleu and Vert Jura, join the family in September 2026.

Four key silhouettes carry the collection, each with a clear role at Louis Vuitton. The Speedy Soft 30 (SGD5300) works for everyday use, while the Alma BB (SGD3550) fulfil occasions calling for something daintier. Meanwhile, the Neverfull MM (SGD4800) is ideal for weekend getaways, and the Side Trunk MM (SGD6550) for special evenings.
Beyond the tactile appeal, the GOTS certification is a quiet nod to sustainability. Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogram turns 130 this year, and the Monogram Emblème feels like the most fitting way to mark the milestone.
