Birkenstock has long been synonymous with the contoured cork-and-latex sole that turned it into a genuine fashion phenomenon. Sandals, clogs and the occasional slip-on make up its classic repertoire. This August, however, the German label pushes boundaries further by building a capsule around the moc-toe.
The defining feature of the moc-toe is a raised, U-shaped seam that wraps across the front of the shoe. Stitched rather than moulded, it gives the upper extra give around the toes. In fact, it’s exactly the kind of functional feature Birkenstock gravitates towards. The construction detail, borrowed from workwear and reworked for the modern wardrobe, anchors three new silhouettes.
Firstly, the Naples Wrapped splits the difference between a clog and a loafer. An additional crossbar over the tongue adds a hint of penny-loafer nostalgia.

Birkenstock’s Utti Lace, meanwhile, leans fully into the moccasin idea. Its soft, sculpted upper and understated lacing system deliver a streamlined moc-toe silhouette you can adjust to fit just right.

Rounding out the capsule is the Highwood Moc, a closed shoe with a chunky sole built to take on city streets. Metal eyelets and a grippy outsole give the moccasin shape more attitude, while Birkenstock’s signature suede keeps it grounded. All three arrive in warm, wearable neutrals led by Cork Brown and Charcoal, suiting the workwear-adjacent mood of the collection.
In Singapore, the moc-toe capsule launches on 20 August 2026 across selected boutiques and Birkenstock’s online store. Spanning loafers, moccasins and city shoes, the lineup makes a persuasive case that Birkenstock’s functional DNA stretches well past the sandal. It’s a focused collection, but one that hints at broader ambitions for the brand’s footwear range.
