Whilst many fashion houses have made it to their centennial, far fewer can claim to be nearing 200. There are, however, exceptions. In the case of Loewe, the Spanish marque celebrates its 180th anniversary this year with a purr-iffic capsule. What began as a small leather atelier serving wealthy clients eventually led to becoming a supplier to the Spanish crown in 1905.
Having existed before the telephone, the lightbulb and even the moon landing, Loewe has accumulated no shortage of history since. Established in 1876, it gave Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez plenty to explore as they delved deep into the archives for the milestone celebration.

From there, the creative directors selected three of the house’s most representative bags and gave each a paw-some commemorative refresh. The Flamenco from the 1980s returns, of course. The Puzzle, first introduced in 2015, also makes an appearance. Last but certainly not least, the Amazona, which dates back to 1975, returns as the aptly named Amazona 180.

What’s more, the motif you see appearing across the bags is not actually a cat. Well, not really. Loewe, named after German founder Enrique Loewe Roessberg, derives from the German word for lion. That connection explains why the majestic creature appears artistically rendered throughout the anniversary capsule.
Set to launch on 3 June 2026, the collection extends beyond the trio of iconic bags. You will also find a selection of small leather goods and ready-to-wear, with the lion appearing across beaded embroidery, leather charms and other celebratory details marking 180 years of Loewe.
