In a city that reveres craft as deeply as couture, Dior unveils its latest retail concept, the Dior Bamboo Pavilion. Continuing its enduring dialogue in Japan, the maison reimagines its iconic Parisian façade in striking gold. Inspired by bamboo forests and illuminated each evening, the structure glows in the heart of Daikanyama, Tokyo, inviting visitors into a reinvented kingdom of dreams.
Echoing 30 Montaigne, the pavilion’s frontage carries familiar house codes. Above, the guiding star that has led Dior since 1947 crowns the architecture. Although similar concepts appeared in Seoul and Bangkok, Tokyo’s edition feels distinct. Here, the house draws deeply from its long-standing ties to Japan and its support of local creatives.
Spanning over 1800 sqm, the space unfolds as an immersive garden. Botanical scenography shapes a meditative promenade. Moreover, plant hunter Seijun Nishihata crafts a conceptual landscape of lush vegetation. A terrace and a pond with luminous glass koi carp complete the dreamlike setting.

Inside, artist Azuma Makoto presents a verdant installation celebrating the beauty of nature, so cherished by Christian Dior. Then Kodai Iwamoto conceives a tea house as artwork. As a result, visitors pause for quiet reflection amidst the retail experience. Craft and contemplation move seamlessly together.
Then an expansive central area reveals Dior’s many universes. Men’s and women’s ready-to-wear by Jonathan Anderson anchor the offerings. Meanwhile, leather goods, shoes and fine jewellery expand the narrative, alongside a customisation salon. Throughout, house codes such as Versailles parquet, and the Cannage and lucky star motifs, meet refined Japanese artisanship. Washi paper ceilings echo Parisian mouldings, while lanterns recall the Lady Dior silhouette.

Beyond retail, the pavilion also functions as a living archive, showcasing icons from the Bar suit to the Junon dress. The journey culminates at Café Dior, an intimate space where gastronomy meets couture. Here, Michelin-starred chef Anne-Sophie Pic curates an exclusive menu bridging Paris and Tokyo. Channelling Monsieur Dior’s kingdom of dreams, savoury creations reference the Cannage motif and radiant sunflowers, while desserts reinterpret house emblems through matcha, yuzu and pistachio.
Located at 8-1 Sarugakucho, Shibuya-Ku, the Dior Bamboo Pavilion in Tokyo opens daily from 11AM to 7PM.
