This just in. Gucci has launched a new leather which they are calling Signature Leather, which looks exactly like, erm, the GG pattern that we all already know. Confused? Me too. But I read (and reread) the press release like a million times so here’s what I think they mean.
Produced from top quality calf skin sourced from France, consider this GG 2.0, with an enhanced finish that’s even better than the one they had before. Meant specially for the top-of-the-line leather bags, the new GG (now called Signature Leather) guarantees a shiny and smooth finish that’s also rich and refined. In other words, it’s supposedly better than the one they had before and you’ll be seeing lots more of this leather on the Italian house’s bags in the seasons to come, as well as the current Spring-Summer 2016 collection that will have both classic colours and seasonal hues like Rose Candy Baby that you see above.
Now for the disclaimer. I haven’t yet seen (or touched) the new Signature Leather bags in person, which also means there will be more updates to come as soon as I have given them my once over next week. Stay tuned!
