There are milestones, and then there are markers of intent. For Longchamp, recently awarded B Corp certification, the distinction signals more than recognition. Instead, it marks a decisive step in the maison’s long-term commitment to sustainable creativity.

So, what does B Corp certification entail? To qualify for the internationally recognised label, brands undergo assessment against more than 300 criteria and rigorous standards. These include environmental impact, supply chains, governance, employee wellbeing and community engagement. In short, the audit examines how a company behaves, not merely what it produces.

For the 78-year-old Parisian maison, the accreditation feels like a natural progression. Its long-term vision rests on two key pillars. Firstly, craftsmanship remains foundational, underscored by its Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) status. Therefore, heritage and responsibility move in tandem.

Under the ‘Made by Longchamp’ pillar, precision guides every decision. The house emphasises rigorous material selection, life cycle analysis and deeper circularity. For example, the Re-Play line repurposes deadstock from the materials library. Meanwhile, its global repair network restored 80,000 bags in 2025 alone.

Equally important is the human dimension that places people at the centre of the maison’s evolution. Longchamp supports artists and fosters creativity, while prioritising personal and professional development. Its women’s programme includes parental care, breast cancer prevention and anti-sexism initiatives, with women comprising 68 percent of managers.

Longchamp style combines movement and timelessness. Making products that last is central to our vision and history,” reflects creative director Sophie Delafontaine. “The fact that we are committed to sustainability inspires us to create beautiful, well-designed objects without ever sacrificing innovation or our love for fashion.” Now, there is certification to affirm it.
