From paparazzi shots to street-style sightings, Balenciaga’s latest arm candy is racking up serious celebrity mileage. Whether it’s actors Jonathan Bailey and Chen Feiyu or singers Giveon and Juyeon, they carry the new Le 7 with ease. Inherently genderless, it also appeals to influencers like Sydney Lynn Carlson, Tan Suan and Jm Banquicio.

The shoulder bag made its runway debut in creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first collection for the maison. Titled The Heartbeat, Summer 26, the show unfolded in Paris’ seventh arrondissement, a district synonymous with cultural landmarks, mannered charm and quintessential Parisian architecture. Fittingly, the bag borrows its name from this historic neighbourhood, channelling classic Left Bank sophistication.

Design-wise, the boxy rectangular silhouette strikes a balance between form and function. Crafted from smooth calfskin, the Le 7 feels structured but never stiff. Subtly rounded edges further soften the look. A curved front flap secures with Balenciaga’s signature turn-lock hardware, while four protective brass feet add quiet metallic contrast.
In terms of size, the single medium format measures 26 cm by 13.5 cm. Inside, a sturdy zippered mid-section acts like a built-in pochette with its own outer zip pocket. Flanking it are two side compartments that expand or collapse, depending on your needs. Finally, adjustable buckled shoulder straps let the bag fold naturally against the body.
Priced at SGD4400, Balenciaga offers Le 7 in black, biscuit or curry-tone smooth calfskin with contrasting suede lambskin lining. Now available in boutiques and online, Le 7 confirms Balenciaga’s instinct for shaping the next cult classic.
