Sustainability has always been a huge part of Balenciaga’s ethos. They made a commitment to reduce its carbon footprint across all areas of design, production, retail and even within its office spaces.
Just last year, the French fashion house created a series of Hourglass bags from a mix of upcycled materials. They also partnered with Reforestrum, sponsoring three agroforestry projects in Asia, Europe and South America.
Today, Balenciaga officially unveils its Re-Sell Program in collaboration with Reflaunt. Their aim is to encourage customers to give new life to preloved accessories and clothing. By engaging in this circularity initiative, customers simply leave their items at participating Balenciaga boutiques.
After a process of authentication and professional photography, they join the list on Reflaunt’s network. Once sold, clients can receive monetary compensation or opt for credit value (a higher percentage) to offset future Balenciaga purchases.
Along with Italy, France, the UK and US, Singapore is one of the few countries to offer Balenciaga’s Re-Sell Program. To encourage fashion lovers to recycle, reduce and re-use wherever possible, this new initiative has officially rolled out at Balenciaga Singapore.
No time to drop off your items in-store? Simply schedule a service online and have your items picked up and sent to Reflaunt.
