Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director Daniel Lee is intent on taking the fashion world on a whimsical childlike journey for Fall-Winter 2020, first releasing a pair of Paddington Bear-inspired boots, and now introducing a new selection of candy-like clutches known as the BV Whirl. These perfectly sculpted bags are reminiscent of twisted wrappers (chocolates, sweets, you name it), except they come in an oversized shape fashioned to be your new favourite handheld accessory.

And while it may look like it’s made of acrylic (or perhaps ceramic), you will be surprised to find that the bag is constructed entirely out of calfskin, along with a leather gusseted interior that makes it a truly luxurious piece in and out. Much like its older sibling, The Pouch, the BV Whirl opens via a seamless-looking magnetic frame, with a depth of approximately 6 cm that’s guaranteed to fit a fair bit of essentials for day or night.

There’s Butter, Egg Yolk, Grass, Kiwi and Peachy, along with vibrant tones such as Lollipop and Scarlet, all of which are fun, juicy colours that will brighten up any mood. Priced at SGD2920 each, the ‘sweets’ are currently up for pre-order right now, with shipping slated from 22 September 2020.
