Ladies, you’ve already met Égérie, Vacheron Constantin’s latest timepiece, but how about getting up close with its predecessors over at the Ladies Heritage Showcase that’s running from now till 11 September 2020 at their ION Orchard boutique? Feast your eyes on treasured timepieces from their archives dating back to the 18th century, understanding how Vacheron Constantin’s artistic interpretations have evolved over the years with its feminine pieces lending inspiration to its modern-day creations like the Égérie, for example.

The Swiss watch manufacturer was one of the early pioneers of the ladies’ pocket watch, evident in the 1815 yellow gold pocket watch that features a floral motif case-band enhanced with garnets.

As you progress along with the exhibition, you will find even more heritage pieces like the Gala (diamond-set and engraved tonneau-shaped ladies’ wristwatch, 1929), a diamond-set (and engraved) tonneau-shaped ladies’ wristwatch from 1929, as well as the Luncheon (engraved yellow gold curved-link bracelet, 1946) which was known as the ladies’ ‘secret’ watch when it made its debut in the 40s. Don’t miss out on the Cocktail (lapis lazuli dial and woven mesh bracelet, 1972), an octagonal white gold wristwatch contrasted beautifully with a woven mesh bracelet that was way ahead of its time.

Intrigued? Do head down to find out more, with the showcase open from 11 to 9 daily. And although it isn’t necessary to make an appointment, you can always give the boutique a call at 6509-8800 just to be sure.
