Gucci Beauty is back in the spotlight after it launched in 2014, was phased out in 2016 and made a comeback in May 2019 under the direction of Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele.

Marking its return with a 58-piece lipstick collection inspired by iconic movies and characters from the gilded era, the shades’ names are inspired by famous actresses from old Hollywood films. This includes the collection’s star colour 25* Goldie Red, an emblematic red shade named after the legendary Hollywood character, Goldie.

Divided into 3 formulas, there’s 36 shades of Rouge à Lèvres Satin that’s packed in sleek gold tubes. The creamy formula offers vibrant colour and a long-lasting satin finish, with hues ranging from nude and red to purple and unexpected black. Next up is the sheer and moisturising Rouge à Lèvres Voile that delivers a subtle pop of colour for days when you just need something a little less bold. Choose from 18 shades housed in vintage floral tubes, which bring to mind the floral design featured on the brand’s signature Gucci Bloom fragrance.

Lastly, there are 4 Baume à Lèvres lip balms with a translucent finish that enhance the smoothness and texture of the lips, all while imparting a soft glow of colour. Shade names include Joslyn Clair in transparent, René Pink (a red pink) and Penelope Plum that’s a hue of plum. Another point worth mentioning is that these lipsticks don’t just offer luxurious formulas in gorgeous packaging; they all smell good too with a subtle hint of violet.

Priced at SGD53 a pop, the Gucci Beauty Lipstick collection will be available at Takashimaya Departmental Store’s Beauty Hall from 12 September 2019.
