What do you do when you have lots to celebrate? In the case of Casio and Hello Kitty, they teamed up to create a special-edition Baby-G watch that’s ultra kawaii. Decked in Hello Kitty details, the new BGD-565KT marks Baby-G’s 30th anniversary and 50 years of Sanrio’s most iconic character.

The newest and cutest addition to Casio’s Baby-G line exudes retro charm in Hello Kitty’s classic colours. In white with blue and red highlights, it inherits the form of the BGD-565, the first-generation Baby-G. The entire timepiece houses a total of 50 Hello Kitty details, a nod to the beloved kitty’s milestone year.

This includes the bio-based resin band printed with the different faces of the beloved character, showing her laughing, winking, surprised and sad. A die-cut ribbon detail also embellishes the band loop, adding extra whimsy to the charming design. An engraving of the iconic face complete with hour and minute hands also graces the caseback.

In addition, the watch dial features her iconic red bow on the top right. Activate the backlight and watch as Kitty’s face emerges, complete with details of her eyes, nose and whiskers. Kawaii to the max! Lastly, the exclusive piece comes with a cloth pouch and box to match.

Excited? Priced at SGD179, the Hello Kitty collaboration model BGD-565KT will be available at G-Shock retailers, and online from 17 January.
