First introduced in the 1970s, Loewe’s Flamenco is a definitive symbol of the Spanish fashion house’s dedication to leather artistry. And after several tweaks through the years, the style is more versatile than ever before. Continuing this trend, the Flamenco Clutch Landscape is its latest incarnation.
Drawing inspiration from the sculptural beauty of natural terrains, it is part of the new Landscape collection that pays homage to geological formations. Revived in 2010 by Stuart Vevers, the distinctive pouch style then returned with tassels. In 2015, Jonathan Anderson gave it a modern update with his signature coiled leather knots.
In its latest seasonal twist, the Flamenco Clutch Landscape sees layers of nappa calfskin and suede compressed and skived to create a one-of-a-kind textural effect. This tactile update is part of the Landscape series that showcases Loewe’s leather savoir-faire. The artful technique mimics geological striations that characterise natural landforms.
Measuring 30 cm by 24.5 cm by 10.5 cm, the medium clutch is suitably soft and slouchy. More importantly, it is roomy enough for more than your daily essentials. The accompanying detachable, adjustable strap also lets you wear it your way. Whether you hold it in hand, sling it over your shoulder or across the body, it adapts with ease.
Priced at SGD4990, the Medium Flamenco Clutch Landscape comes in four rich and earthy colourways: Bottle Green/Ochre, Chocolate/Light Moss, Pecan/Parrot Pink and Sparkling Grey/Butter. Each comes complete with a gold-embossed Loewe logo for a quiet statement of craftsmanship and heritage.
