2023 was an exciting year for Rimowa, as they celebrated a milestone anniversary with a touring exhibition. Displaying exclusive cases from archives spanning their history, the SEIT 1898 exhibition offers an insight into the house’s artistic collaborations. Visitors also revisit vintage designs such as the Tapas Beauty Case and Salsa suitcase that will forever be a part of Rimowa’s history. Friends of Rimowa, including Adwoa Aboah, Pharrell Williams and Takashi Murakami loaned personal pieces as well. Each brings its own story to tell, while personalised with their own mix of stickers and embellishments.

Rimowa’s SEIT 1898 exhibition has already made two stops around the world. The first was in Tokyo’s very own Shibuya City back in June, before moving to New York in September to coincide with New York Fashion Week. Its third and possibly final stop will be its hometown of Cologne, Germany. However, there’s no official word on when that will be happening in 2024 as yet. For now, you can treat yourself to Rimowa's SEIT 1898 luggage charm to celebrate the luggage maker’s 125th anniversary. These are all crafted in leather in the shape of signature motifs like the plane and globe. In bright colours, they display graphic texts such as ‘RIMOWA’ and ‘1898’ that stand out in a contrasting font.

Retailing at SGD370 each, the leather SEIT 1898 luggage charm is available at Rimowa stores in Mandarin Gallery and Marina Bay Sands under the Travel Accessories section. Pick from blue, red and yellow for a fun contrast against the aluminium finish of your favourite Rimowa luggage.
