Marc Newson is an industrial designer who rose to fame in the world of furniture, product and tech design. Some of his most famous works include the Apple Watch and the Embryo Chair, for example. His design ethos revolves around smooth geometric lines devoid of sharp edges and corners.

For his latest collaboration with Louis Vuitton, Newson creates the Cabinet Of Curiosities. Celebrated for designing Louis Vuitton’s Horizon and Pégase luggage styles, Newson’s work often draws descriptors such as timeless, futuristic and polished. And the same goes for his new conception for the French fashion house.

Taking heritage design to all-new heights, Marc Newson elevates the signature travel trunk into a piece of art. The Cabinet Of Curiosities is essentially a monogrammed trunk that comes with an assortment of leather-encased cubes.

Together, they function as a unique case to display all your personal mementos and precious knick-knacks.

The 19 removable leather cubes come in three different sizes. There’s even a door on one side of the smallest cube to hide your most precious items. Word has it that there are approximately 1000 different configurations to stack the boxes, so you can have fun switching up the positions to your heart’s content.

You also get the choice of three different coloured leather cube sets. The first comes in natural VVN to echo Louis Vuitton’ OG leather. The second one is a contemporary mix of red, green and blue, while the third option is in full yellow. The trunk, which measures 112.5 cm by 69 cm, comes complete with a leather handle on top.

The perfect interior piece to make a statement, Louis Vuitton’s Cabinet Of Curiosities by Marc Newson is available for sale in Singapore. Expect a lead time of 10 to 11 months, however. A true work of art commanding an equally extravagant price point, each set retails at SGD365,000.
