If you’re in search of escapism, let Aesop’s gender fluid Othertopias fragrance collection open a portal into another world. Inspired by liminal spaces, the line-up of five eau de parfums offer unconventional olfactive journeys to worlds both real and imagined.
The range debuted with three poetic scents in 2021. The first, Miraceti, a resinous, woody and spicy mix, takes you out to sea. Its notes of labdanum, ambrette and styrax hint at the sea breeze and ocean-worn wood, an ode to the serenity and savagery of the sea.
Next, take a trip to far-off coastlines with Karst. Moody yet fresh, its herbaceous mix of juniper, cumin and sandalwood conjures images of cliffside vegetation and the seashore.
Looking to unlock reverie? Erémia is evocative of nature reclaiming the urban wasteland. The hazy scent contrasts waxy florals and green, citrus undertones with powdery musk. The scent of wet concrete, with notes of galbanum, iris and yuzu, will surely do the trick.
Just a year later, the fourth chapter, Eidesis, followed. Infused with notes of black pepper, frankincense and sandalwood, the mesmerising cocktail is designed to stir your own personal mirage in your mind.

Rounding up the list is the collection’s most recent addition, Gloam. Soul-searchers will enjoy the floral, spicy and green concoction where the familiar collides with the uncanny. Spritz some on and let its blend of mimosa, saffron and iris conjure the dreamscape you’ve been looking for.
