In celebration of Diptyque’s 60th anniversary, the French fragrance brand invites you to travel the world and discover fresh horizons with its limited-edition Le Grand Tour collection. The line-up spotlights five major destinations that have served as inspiration to the fragrance powerhouse, with creations to engage all your senses as they transport you from the occident to the orient.
The olfactory journey kicks off in France with its Paris Candle (SGD138 for 190 g). A tribute to the historic cradle of Diptyque, the woody scented candle evokes scenes of a stroll along the quays of the Seine, the weeping willows you pass along its banks and the polished wood scents of the antique stores that line the Parisian cobblestones.
Next, you’ll find yourself in Venice, Italy, with a set of three 7.5 ml travel sized Venise EDTs (SGD120), which takes the sensorial odyssey to the vegetable gardens of the Serenissima lagoon, with its aromatic cocktail of basil, green pepper and vetiver notes.
Sail on to Greece and retrace the scented roads that reach from the coast up to Pelion, with a composition of immortelle absolute, ambroxan and fig wood accord with the Milies Scented Oval (SGD118 for 35 g) that’s decked out in white and blue shades of the sea, topped with a tassel and string of marble beads.
Journey further east and you’ll find yourself in Japan with the floral Kyoto EDT (SGD238 for 100 ml), a balance between notes of incense, rose and vetiver that reproduce the codes of the age-old floral art form, ikebana.
And to round up the tour, approach the ancient coastal city of Byblos with a candle (SGD218 for 300 g), decorated with grey and sandy-coloured wisps, which features a spicy mix of coffee, atlas cedar and white musks recalling the traditional cardamom coffee served in the Ottoman souks.
