A little known fact about Goyard? They created handsome cases back in the day that were used to house precious personal objects before they delved into trunk-making and soft-bag manufacturing under the leadership of Edmond Goyard, with the signature Goyardine canvas rising to become a symbol and icon of the French house till this very day.
And while they do not introduce new pieces on a seasonal basis, Goyard consistently releases new curiosities every now and then to pique your interest, one of them being the Joux 6 Watch/Timepiece Trunk that is the subject of today’s Goyard post.
From the exterior, it reminds you of a classic Goyard trunk, but the devil is truly in the details with this one, opening to reveal 6 compartmentalised sections for you to keep your timepieces safely secured at all times. A solid creation that expounds on Goyard’s box-making and trunk-making heritage, the Joux 6 Watch/Timepiece Trunk can be carried around (if you ever have the need to hold 6 timepieces) via the leather top handle, or it can always double up as a fancy (yet secure, with the added lock and key) display ‘stand’ to be kept at home.
Measuring 22 cm by 20 cm (with a depth of 12 cm), the Joux 6 Timepiece Watch/Trunk is currently available at Goyard’s boutique in Takashimaya Shopping Centre where it is priced at SGD10,060 each. Word has it that the version in Black/Tan is currently sold out, but you can always place a pre-order for now. Alternatively, you can go for the one in full black, down to limited pieces for you to take a look right now.
