Celine CT-01 & CT-02 Sneakers

New year, new sneakers, and you can look forward to this cool selection that has just arrived at the French luxury brand’s duplex boutique over at Marina Bay Sands. From his ‘The Dancing Kid’ collection, Hedi Slimane is a master when it comes to integrating streetwear influences in luxury fashion, evident in the ‘Z’ Trainer High Top Sneakers that are inspired by the basketball sneakers from the 80’s and 90’s. The rounded toe? Check. The thin perforations of the upper? Check. The 5 mm heel height that gives it an elevated lift? Check.

Each sneaker is constructed from 100% calfskin and made in Italy using a special technique that requires the outsole to be stitched to the upper, thus increasing its longevity for the seasons (and years) to come. Function aside, Celine has also made several additions that give the sneaker extra visual appeal from all angles. The side trimmings are given graphic lines to form a ‘Z’ outline (and hence the name). It also features contrasting logos over at the back and shoe tongue, along with the number CT-01 (which you could say is the shoe’s official code) embossed on the side of the sneaker laces.

Priced at SGD1250 a pair, it will come in colours like Black/Optic White and Optic White, with sizes ranging from 39 to 46 for men.

As for those who prefer a mid-sneaker silhouette, you can go for the CT-02 (SGD1200), a slightly different version that comes with an extra velcro tab right in front. The coloured and metallic versions should be arriving in the coming weeks (right now they are only available for online preview), so do stay tuned for more updates.
