Moynat: Meet The Tiniest Réjane Ever, The New Réjane Nano

Creating miniature bags isn’t always about shrinking down the proportions and making sure it looks cute and fun. Ideally, it still has to be functional while retaining most (if not all) of the elements of the original silhouette, which is why this new (and so adorable) little Réjane Nano deserves a closer look, especially when it comes in a precious size that measures just 17 cm high by 14.5 cm in width, a size that can also sit in the palm of your hand if you need a quick reference.

A true icon of the house, the very first Réjane was created for French actress Gabrielle Réjane back in the late 19th century, identified by its streamlined design modelled after the curves found on the house’s signature trunks. Aside from the original Réjane (30 cm by 20.5 cm), Réjane Petite (26 cm by 18.5 cm) and Réjane Mini (20 cm by 15 cm), this little one joins the family as the tiniest Réjane to date (the charms/necklaces from seasons past do not count because they technically aren’t actual bags) and will be launching worldwide from 9 December 2020.

The bag will come only in Taurillon Blush leather with calf pearl lining, equipped with a tone-on-tone leather strap to complete the full look. Interestingly, it will not be available in classic colours like Black or Taupe (for now anyway), but rather 5 bold (and beautiful) shades like Flamingo, Marin, Mint, Ocean and Powder.

There’s also no difference in terms of palladium or gold hardware options (gold hardware typically commands a higher price point at Moynat), which also means all 5 will be priced at SGD3290 each. And when you think about the amount of craftsmanship and quality that goes into the Réjane (or any Moynat bag, for that matter), you will realise that it’s pretty much a steal, considering you’re getting a full-leather handbag from a renowned luxury house for slightly over that 3 grand mark.

Moynat Singapore will be taking in full deposits if you want to secure your piece (before the bags are set to be released in limited quantities, of course). Perfect for the one who has been on a hunt for a true miniature that’s both an icon and is also actually fully functional, and also for fans of the French bag maker, your next move will be to head down to their boutiques at Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Shopping Centre before they are all gone.
