Louis Vuitton Since 1854 Collection

Since 1854 is more than just a new material at Louis Vuitton; it represents the year that the French luxury house was created, reaffirming the fact that almost two centuries worth of craftsmanship and heritage continue to remain essential factors at Louis Vuitton.

The woven fabric is completed with the house’s signature flowers, arranged in an eye-catching monogram that was inspired by the Art Nouveau and stained-glass windows from the original Vuitton family home in Asnières. Woven jacquard fabric bags aren’t new at LV either (who remembers the Monogram Aviator Bag from Pre-Fall 2010, or the Monogram Mini Lin collection?), so you could say a comeback was long overdue.

Aside from an eye-catching (quite literally) selection of RTW like cropped jackets and knitted polo tops, the Since 1854 collection comprises several iconic bags such as the Dauphine (priced from SGD5300), Neverfull (SGD2890) and Petit Noé (SGD2730). And to tempt you even further, Louis Vuitton has also given some of its new designs like the Deauville Mini (SGD2980), Noé Purse (SGD2270) and Petit Sac Plat (SGD2070) the Since 1854 treatment, making them available in Black and Bordeaux woven jacquard, both of which are perfect hues for the everyday.

The Deauville Mini measures 21 cm by 16 cm, first introduced in Fall-Winter 2020 as a downsized alternative to the classic Deauville, now coming in a refreshing ‘camera bag’ silhouette that’s both compact and lightweight. The Noé Purse is also new, measuring just 11.5 cm by 12 cm, which makes it even tinier than the Nano Noé. While it’s lacking in terms of size, the removable strap and luggage tag more than make up for it, both of which are lovely additions to the miniature cutie. The Petit Sac Plat needs no introduction, in its irresistible 17 cm by 14 cm shape that’s easily recognisable as a Louis Vuitton signature even from afar.

Other familiar favourites would be the Onthego GM (SGD4250), Petite Malle (SGD7650), Pochette Metis (SGD3350) and Speedy Bandoulière (SGD3150), and you can tell that Louis Vuitton is going all out with its selection of bags for this new collection.

Do save the date for 25 September 2020 (yes, it will launch on Friday), when you can view the pieces in person at the boutique, or find them all at Louis Vuitton’s Singapore online store. The Since 1854 collection carries that magical ability to weave its way into your heart and is one that grows on you over time. If it isn’t ‘love at first sight’, then you might want to visit it again over the weekend (or in the coming days) because sometimes true love takes time.

This Noe Purse will be mine! I missed out on their Square bag, I hope I can catch this one. Finally a pattern that connects the history of the house again.
