Celine F/W20 Tambour Bag

Celine has named its latest it-bag after the familiar instrument carried by the French Republic Guards (tambour in French translates to drum), and it isn’t difficult to see why. With a round cylindrical shape, this gorgeous little bundle first made an appearance on the French luxury house’s runway show, coming in several materials ranging from casual and fun raffia to the luscious leather and exotic skins. And the good news: the Tambour Bag is the first design from the new collection slated for launch in October 2020, and you can find it now in 2 options at Celine boutiques in Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Shopping Centre.

The first option is relatively simple, appearing in Triomphe Canvas (SGD3600) and tan leather trimmings that’s as classic as Celine gets. The second design comes in braided textile Façon Raffia (SGD4100) which works surprisingly well with the vintage-looking silhouette. Measuring 17 cm across and 12 cm high, this chic handbag is meant to be worn hands-free, by way of slinging the strap (45 cm drop length) casually over the shoulder or across the body. Both bags open via the snap button closure tucked beneath the Triomphe logo, making it an absolutely fun bag for casual Fridays or weekends when you are out and about.

It’s not often that Celine introduces uniquely shaped bags such as the Tambour Bag, so if you’ve always loved the brand but prefer something different, this will be it.
