With smaller-than-small handbags making a huge comeback in the fashion world, it comes without surprise that Hermès is bringing its teeny-tiny Evelyne 16 (previously known as the Evelyne TPM) back into the limelight. Lucky folks have spotted one (or two) popping up at the brand’s online store in Singapore, and they were gone in a flurry considering they’re priced at just SGD2600 each. If you need a comparison, the next size up, the Evelyne III 29 is almost twice the price for the ones in Clemence leather, while the Evelyne III 33 is even higher at SGD5400 for Epsom leather.

Over the years, the Evelyne has gone through numerous updates, which explains why there’s an addition of III behind its name. III stands for the third edition, which includes the addition of a back pocket as well as an adjustable strap for the sizes 29 and 33, previously known as the PM and GM respectively. The Evelyne 16, however, is fashioned slightly differently, coming with a single pocket and non-adjustable canvas strap meant to be strapped casually across your body. The tiny silhouette is perfect for days when you’re heading out for a quick run to town when all you need are your absolute essentials like a wallet and mobile phone, as well as a travel-sized hand sanitiser.

Measuring 16 cm wide and 18 cm high, the Evelyne 16 Amazone Bag comes in a plethora of colours like Étain and Noir, as well as a bevy of seasonal hues that will appear from time to time. There are perhaps one of two ways to get one at retail price. The first is to keep your eyes peeled online and hit the refresh button every now and then. The second? Indicate your interest with H boutiques located at Liat Towers, Marina Bay Sands and Takashimaya Shopping Centre, and wait patiently for your piece to arrive in-store.
