For those who don’t already know, Hiroshi Fujiwara is the founder of Fragment Design, a multidisciplinary label created back in 2003 that has gone on to partner with some of the biggest names in the fashion industry. This includes luxury houses like Louis Vuitton and sportswear giant Nike, with Fragment Design’s latest collaboration joining forces with TAG Heuer once again, creating this handsome beast equipped with the Calibre Heuer 02 manufacture movement. And here are 5 things to know about the red-hot (literally) watch, which will be officially launched for sale on 27 July 2020.

 – The watch takes references from the world of motor-racing (evident in the C-case inspired models dating back to the 1960s and 1970s), only this time it’s given the Hiroshi Fujiwara twist in the form of a red sapphire case-back that gives it extra flair and character.

  – It has been given a rather minimalistic treatment, evident in the black opaline dial which features two sub-counters at the 3 and 9 o’clock position, along with a date window located at 6 o’clock. The finishing touches are a subtle nod to the Japanese brand, with the lightning logo sitting right above TAG Heuer’s at 12 o’clock, and the FRAGMENT text which can be found sandwiched between 4 and 5 o’clock.

– It’s worth mentioning that the automatic column-wheel chronograph moment is exceptionally precise, with an 80-hour power reserve that’s pretty impressive to boot. Made available in a case diameter of 44 mm, the limited-edition watch comes in a substantial size that will fit perfectly on any gentleman’s wrist.

 – Another feature to note? The five-row steel bracelet is a new design exclusive to the Fragment Design Heuer 02 Chronograph, equipped with a butterfly folding clasp that will allow you to open (and close) it with ease. The steel is brushed and polished to perfection, giving you the perfect amalgamation of form and function all at once.

Do note that there will only be 500 numbered timepieces available worldwide (it is an exclusive collaboration, after all), with 20 pieces allocated to Singapore. Pre-orders will begin from 19 June 2020, and you can give any of the boutiques a call (if you do not wish to head down physically) to indicate your interest on the Fragment Design Heuer 02 Chronograph (SGD8650) and placing your deposit to secure a piece.
