Saint Laurent Carré Satchel In Dark Purple & Orchid

It’s not often that you find a Saint Laurent bag dressed up in a flirty pink or a deep purple hue, which is why this particular duo under the relatively new Le Carré line is worth a closer look at. The Carré Satchel was first introduced in the Fall-Winter 2019 collection, in a single size that measures 23 cm by 17.5 cm which pretty much functions as a great everyday bag that can take you effortlessly from day to night.

It stood out from the other bags like Loulou, Niki and Sunset, finished with a cool magnetic clip buckle closure that’s way different from the typical YSL interlocking hardware. A slight push will unlock the unique tab closure, revealing a single interior that will fit several essentials, with an extra zippered pocket and an internal slot that will help you stay neat and well-organised.

Another plus point? The Carré Satchel comes with a leather strap that’s slightly thicker than average (in comparison to the ladies Sac de Jour, for example), which means that it will sit comfortably on your shoulder even under prolonged periods. The adjustable length will also give you varied options of carrying, whether it is worn across the body or slung casually over the shoulder depending on your preference.

Today, the bag comes in materials like canvas, crocodile-embossed leather, suede and patent tortoise-embossed leather, along with a wide assortment of colours that come in smooth leather. These include Blanc Vintage, Brick and Red Velvet which are all paired with bronze metallic hardware, along with Dark Purple and Orchid (both pictured above) that come with shiny silver-toned hardware that’s also a first for the Le Carré range. Do note that some colours have yet to arrive in store, but are available for purchase online, so it’s worth checking out the site before you head down directly to the store to enquire about this piece.
