The bags from the Fendi x Porter-Yoshida collaboration were pretty much on every fashion insider’s lips, buzzing all through Milan Fashion Week right after Fendi showcased its Fall-Winter 2019 runway show for men in January earlier this year. Essentially remakes of the iconic Baguette and Peekaboo, these iconic bags are constructed from hard-wearing nylon synonymous with Porter-Yoshida, with the collection also officially marking the first time the Baguette bag has ever been included in its collections for men.

And while the Peekaboo is a story for another day, here’s some information you need to know about the Fendi x Porter-Yoshida Baguette.

01 – Regarding the sizes, there are 2 to keep an eye out for, which will be referred to as Regular and XL in this post. Regular measures 26 cm by 16 cm which is frankly a great size that even the ladies can pull off equally well, while the XL is significantly bigger at 41 cm by 25 cm, making it one of the largest Baguette bags ever created.

02 – Apart from the difference in sizes, there are also differences in terms of utility between the two. Regular comes with the standard top handle and a thin shoulder strap with a drop length of 70 cm, making for the perfect messenger that can be slung easily across the body. In addition, it comes with two hoops at the side, so you can attach the accompanying belt and buckle it around the hip or waist like a cool bum bag.

Large, on the other hand, comes with a top handle so it can be hung under the arm like an oversized handbag without looking overly bulky due to the soft nature of the nylon. The shoulder strap is slightly thicker too, which makes perfect sense considering you will be fitting loads more within the Large, and comfort is something that has definitely been considered during the design process.

03 – As for the colours, Singapore will be bringing in 4 different variations. Look out for the Black, Blue and Red which come with gold hardware, along with a fourth which comes in Grey with silver hardware. Apart from an internal zip pocket, each Baguette comes with an external slip pocket that opens to a bright pop of orange, reminiscent of the contrasting interior found in Porter-Yoshida’s signature Tanker range of bags.

04 – The golden question on everyone’s mind? How much will it cost in Singapore? The Regular is priced at SGD3190, while the Large comes in a tad higher at SGD3750, which is frankly a great price for a piece that’s really well constructed.

05 – The fact that the Fendi x Porter-Yoshida collection comes in very limited quantities only adds on to its appeal, which also explains why it’s currently up for pre-orders on a first-come-first-serve basis. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favour.
