Bamford Watch Department GMT Watch

When it comes to watch customisation services, Bamford Watch Department has always been the one to watch (no pun intended), known for its cool cutting edge variations in DLC coatings (a military grade black titanium coating) and unique glow dials that amp up an otherwise run-of-the-mill timepiece.

It all started with George Bamford and his quest to tweak his Daytona by applying a DLC coating on the steel portions of the watch, rendering it completely black. Over time, his fame led to the creation of Bamford Watch Department, starting out with cosmetic variations on dials for clients who request for their very own customised timepiece. It even started a partnership with Jean-Claude Biver (President of LVMH’s Watch Division) in 2017, becoming the official company responsible for creating customised versions of Bulgari, TAG Heuer and Zenith watches (without any implications on warranty), a commendable effort that goes to show the quality of the brand’s customisation services.

Today, Bamford Watch Department has even gone on to create in-house timepieces, one of which includes the GMT Watch above, available in a case diameter of 40 mm and featuring the Swiss-made self-winding Sellita SW330-1 movement that’s armed with a 42 hour power reserve. An extra 24-hour hand even gives you an added function to view a different time zone, perfect for the man who’s a frequent traveller. Finished with an anti-glass sapphire glass crystal lens, the watch is currently available in 5 different colour combinations, two of which (Blue/White and Orange/Blue) are available at MRPORTER right now. Priced at GBP981 (or SGD1723), the automatic watch is great for those looking out for something different and unique, an under-the-radar timepiece that won’t break the bank.
