Prada Parfums: La Femme and L’Homme Prada Velvet Edition

Prada’s go-to perfumer Daniela Andrier is on a never-ending olfactory journey, creating fragrance after fragrance that only seek to ignite and arouse the senses. Both key scents, the La Femme Prada and the L’Homme Prada were actually created back in 2016 under the creative direction and inspiration of Miuccia Prada, one that started off as an idea of challenging preconceived notions that scents must contain only masculine and feminine ingredients for his and her fragrances respectively.

With La Femme Prada, expect to find a delicate mix of flowers, vanilla, ylang ylang and the unexpected addition of vetiver, while the L’Homme Prada is all about geranium, fougère, neroli and patchouli, one that’s further juxtaposed with interesting hints of amber and iris.

What’s special about these 2019 versions are the precious fabrics that encapsulate the scents within. If you find the print rather familiar, that’s because the design draws inspiration from Prada’s Fall-Winter 2017 collection, specifically the Cahier range of bags that’s still a must-have from Prada’s extensive leather goods lineup.

Rendered in lush velvet that’s crafted by the very same craftsmen that embroider Prada’s bags in Italy, this is a testament to the luxury brand’s continued efforts that only will best will do for those in the know.

Even the boxes the scents come in are decorated in the complementary print, sealed with the Velvet Edition label that makes it even more special. Priced at SGD534, each bottle comes in a 100ml eau de toilette spray and is now available online at Escentials, which you can shop by clicking here.
