The queen of cute is back, and this time she’s having a monochromatic moment. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Hello Kitty trades in her signature white fur and cutesy red bow. Instead, she arrives in a bold, all-black wardrobe. Enter the exclusive One Today x Sanrio Hello Kitty Black Series.

Conceived by Mikio Suzuki, chief design officer of One Today, the Black Series reimagines Hello Kitty as a contemporary art object. As such, the Japanese underground lifestyle label opens a more grown-up chapter for one of pop culture’s most enduring icons. Suzuki, whose career spans advertising, art direction and film, often reinterprets characters through an adult lens. This collaboration is no exception.
At the heart of the collection sit three sculptural figurines inspired by the themes of love, heart and black. They fuse Hello Kitty’s whimsical charm with striking art-driven restraint. Two designs feature vivid white motifs, one with the word ‘love’ and another with all-over hearts. And of course, completing the One Today x Sanrio Hello Kitty Black Series is a striking all-black version.
As a Valentine’s Day gift, the series feels thoughtful and unexpected, especially for design enthusiasts and Hello Kitty collectors. Each sleek figure, crafted in premium PVC with a refined matte finish, stands 20 cm tall. Ornamentation stays minimal, so silhouette and subtle detailing take centrestage. The result feels edgy, modern and quietly collectible.
Following earlier launches in Japan and Korea, the Singapore release on 11 February 2026 marks the Southeast Asian debut of the One Today x Sanrio Hello Kitty Black Series. Each figurine is priced at SGD229.90 and will be available at selected ActionCity stores and online.
