Previously, Fendi dedicated books to its beloved Baguette, one an overview and the other celebrating its 25th anniversary. Now, the Italian fashion house is releasing the limited-edition Peekaboo-K to offer fresh insight into the iconic top-handle bag.

The contemporary Peekaboo first launched to great success in 2008. It is characterised by the signature flap detailing that seems to form a smile when left open. This was a brilliant play of contrasts between the soft leather and the striking Peekaboo Bar hardware by Silvia Venturini Fendi.

You can use both sides of the bag as well, thanks to the Fendi turn-lock closure in the middle. While the trapezoid silhouette always remains the same, the Peekaboo undergoes numerous transformations in seasonal materials and prints. Then there are collaborative efforts, such as the recent one with Versace.

All this and more fills the pages of the Peekaboo-K. The limited-edition tome also boasts beautiful photographs that make up the four main chapters. One takes a look at the use of textures, such as shearling and fur, to add new dimensions to the Peekaboo. Another shows how the top-handle bag has been a canvas showcasing the artworks of celebrities such as Adele, Cara Delevingne and Jolin Tsai.

The third chapter, ‘Eclectic Instinct’, is all about precious and exotic materials, while the final set of 20 images explores its graphic nature. The FF prints and Fendi Monster motifs, for example. And since the Peekaboo isn’t solely for women, the book features a fair number of versions for men as well.

Launching soon at Fendi, the Peekaboo-K will retail at SGD170, whilst stocks last. Get ready to take a peek into Fendi’s beloved Peekaboo.
