Bottega Veneta’s bag offerings may come in a wide variety of shapes, but one thing they all have in common? A less-is-more approach that stays true to the maison’s ‘if you know, you know’ ethos. And the same goes for its latest addition, the understated Fisherman bag.

The new bag comes without bells and whistles, and with neither loud monograms nor obvious logo placement. From the front, the uniquely and elegantly curved design is reminiscent of Sardine bag’s outline. But unlike the latter’s slouchy appearance, this boasts a structured appeal with a flat back and a triangular side view.

The Fisherman comes with a short top handle that features subtly embossed logos on both its brass-finished ends. The smooth calfskin creation opens via a sturdy top flap, which secures with a magnetic snap. This offers a wide opening to a single main compartment, complete with suede lining and one card slot.

There are three sizes to choose from, starting with the Small Fisherman Cross-Body Bag (SGD3650). This is the littlest of the lot and measures 22 cm by 19 cm by 11.5 cm. Need a bag that can hold more? Size up to the 34 cm by 28 cm by 14 cm Medium Fisherman Cross-Body Bag (SGD4570). Finally, there’s the Large Fisherman Top Handle Bag (SGD5850) at 53 cm by 44 cm by 15 cm.

What’s more, both the small and medium sizes come with a detachable strap. This means you can either carry the Fisherman in hand as sculptural arm candy or as a hands-free crossbody piece, making it a minimalist’s dream for all occasions.

Do note that the colours differ with the sizes as well. The small and medium are available in a choice of Black and Wood, while the large only comes in Barolo. All of which are classic hues that possess an everlasting appeal, making the Fisherman a contender for the perfect forever companion.
