Bang & Olufsen’s latest collaboration with GamFratesi takes form and function to all-new heights. In case you didn’t know, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi’s Copenhagen-based studio has achieved great renown for its dynamic approach, incorporating both Danish and Italian influences, to design.

And the new Beosound A5 portable speaker, available in two slightly differing versions, is clearly proof of this.

Firstly, Nordic Weave, which is perfect for those who prefer a brighter colour palette. Inspired by laidback summer afternoons by the beach (think Panama straw hats), it features natural aluminium with a woven paper fibre exterior and matching light oak handle.

Dark Oak, on the other hand, comes in black anthracite aluminium with speaker cover and handle crafted in dark brown wood. The design team describes this as an homage to winter woodlands and Danish leather chairs from the 1960s. This version will match well with a darker home aesthetic.

Good looks aside, the Beosound A5 provides more than 12 hours of playtime in a single charge. It even has a built-in function that supports wireless phone charging. The handle also renders it highly portable, so you can take it with you from room to room. Or even to a buddy’s place to for an evening of quality music appreciation.
