Dior Creates An Exclusive Re-Edition Of The Lady Dior Worn By Lady Diana

Lady Diana famously received a Dior handbag as a gift during her visit to Paris in September 1995. And the rest, as they say, is history. It immediately gained worldwide popularity for its streamlined appeal and elegance. This reaction resulted in Dior making it part of its permanent line-up ever since.

Today, in homage to its ambassador, it’s officially known as the Lady Dior. And it carries with it the signature Cannage detailing and unique D-I-O-R charms, all iconic elements of the house. There are also numerous re-interpretations of the popular bag design.

For instance, recent updates include the Lady D-Lite and Lady D-Joy, which offer a contemporary twist to the beloved silhouette. There’s also the ongoing Dior Lady Art project, which brings global artists together to transform the Lady Dior bag into a captivating art piece.

This year, Maria Grazia Chiuri reached within the archives to bring an iconic 1996 design back to life. The mini Lady Dior that Lady Diana carried to the Met Gala event is specially recreated in blue satin. Further enhancements of strass (crystals) elements add a dazzling effect to the hardware.

Demonstrating the exquisite savoir-faire of the house, this exclusive re-edition measures 17 cm wide and 15 cm high. Do check in with your local SA for information on prices and availability, because this limited-edition Lady Dior is sure to fly off the shelves the moment it arrives.
