– The sneaker looks exactly like the classic LV Trainer designed by Virgil Abloh. What’s different is the use of 90 percent recycled and bio-sourced materials. Even the laces come in 100 percent recycled polyester, and the entire outsole is made from 94 percent recycled polyurethane. Even so, there is zero compromise on cushioning and support.
– Each pair sports the unique LV upcycling logo all over. These appear on the shoe tongue and sides, all crafted in recycled polyurethane for a similar rubber-like texture.
– The upper features a unique mix of recycled polyester along with a corn-based plastic material. This is good news for those who prefer non-leather options when it comes to their footwear as well. All in, the eco-designed LV Trainer guarantees to be lightweight and comfortable to boot.
– The recyclable cardboard box that houses each pair doubles up as a bag, thanks to an extra handle. Plant-based inks are also used for printing instead of regular petroleum-based ones. The sneakers are lovingly wrapped in a Tencel felt shoe bag made of renewable fibres from sustainably managed forests.
– Louis Vuitton has made the LV Trainer (SGD1790) available in three colours. Each sports coloured elements like black, green and red all over the predominantly white upper. Sizes range from 4 to 15.5 for anyone and everyone.
Currently, Singapore is carrying the green pair online, with the other two colours slated for launch come September 2022.
