Don’t Adjust Your Focus, These Louis Vuitton Pieces Are Intentionally Blur…

No, you aren’t seeing things. Aptly named Blurry Monogram Coated Canvas, these ‘wavy’ creations expound on Virgil Abloh’s ‘This Is Not Monogram’ theme. These new pieces are part of Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2022 menswear line-up.

The inspiration behind the out-of-focus treatment goes back to the late designer’s childhood. A fan of surrealist paintings, Virgil had envisioned a dreamy re-creation of several Louis Vuitton signatures. They all come with a curved outline and dreamlike signature monogram for maximum effect.

For starters, the Pocket Organiser (SGD735) is a handy cardholder with five inner pockets and three card slots within. There’s even an exterior flat pocket for quick access, rounding it up as a compact SLG that fits nicely within pockets or bigger bags.

The Slender Wallet (SGD875), on the other hand, is a typical bifold with eight card slots and a bill compartment. Should you need more space, there’s always the versatile Brazza Wallet (SGD1300). It comes with 16 card slots, five inner pockets for bills and a long zipped coin compartment. All three have been given deliberate curves, making them standout pieces with a difference.

A trunk with a twist best describes this Soft Trunk (SGD3700) that measures 22.5 cm wide and 14 cm high. Of course, the proportions are slightly skewed this season. Still, it will amply fit a mobile phone, small cardholder and beauty essentials like a lip balm and hand sanitiser. The trunk-inspired corners remain a key element of the bag, together with a natural leather shoulder strap offering multiple ways of carrying it.

Then there’s the reimagined Lock It (SGD4850) that comes in at 44 cm by 34 cm. Think of it as a carryall, perfect for a weekend getaway or a short trip abroad. A removable Louis Vuitton name tag and an extra lock round up the detailing on this handsome bag.
