Delvaux prides itself on being one of the oldest leather goods makers in the world, founded by Charles Delvaux in 1829 right at the heart of Brussels in Belgium.

For almost 200 years, the Belgian fashion house has kept a strong focus on quality and craftsmanship, often shying away from loud monograms by letting the bag’s shape (and fine leather) speak for itself.

Two iconic designs immediately come to mind when you think of Delvaux. The Brillant and the Tempête are both top-handle styles loved for their sleek silhouette and signature hardware, but the Belgian bag maker recently unveiled a new bag that looks set on becoming a key classic at Delvaux.

The Lingot comes in a 20.5 cm by 16.5 cm crossbody format that offers a contemporary alternative to the more structured top-handle styles mentioned above. Elegant from every angle thanks to the smooth Olen Calf leather and curved corners, the Lingot is kept rather minimal except for the D-shaped buckle in a mixture of gold and palladium hardware.

Aside from two inner pockets and a roomy central compartment (8.5 cm deep), the Lingot also has an exterior back pocket for keeping several essentials conveniently within reach.

Carrying the bag is pretty easy as well, thanks to the adjustable leather shoulder strap which can be looped twice for a short over-the-shoulder style or kept long for slinging across the body.

Going for SGD6700 each, the Lingot is currently only available for pre-orders in Singapore, but you can try the display piece in-store to see if the size, shape and style work for you. Aside from classic black, it will also come in Carmine, Cornflower, Kiwi, Latte and Tan, a total of 6 colours for your choosing.

On the hunt for a classic-in-the-making from a storied fashion house like Delvaux? Look no further than the elegant Lingot from Delvaux.
