First lipsticks, then blushers and nail polishes. Now, Hermès is adding complexion perfectors to its line-up of beauty offerings. Dubbed Plein Air, the new collection dedicated to the complexion is all about elevating natural beauty while enhancing skin with freshness and light.

First up, the Plein Air Complexion Balm SPF30/PA+++ (SGD148), a hydrating pigmented cream that gives skin light coverage and a natural glow for up to eight hours, all with a second skin effect. Formulated with a skin-loving concoction of hyaluronic acid, evening primrose, baikal skullcap and white mulberry, with SPF30 sun protection, this is as much of a skincare product as it is a skin enhancer.

It’s soft and enveloping texture that melts over skin will also win you over. Created in partnership with a Japanese laboratory that specialises in the sensorial properties of materials, this innovative base goes on like a soft caress and imparts that coveted lit-from-within luminosity.

You’ll also be glad to know that like the rest of the beauty objects, this too is scented with notes of arnica, sandalwood and green tea, an original fragrance concocted by in-house perfumer Christine Nagel. Each complexion balm is presented in a sleek white tube with a colour band that makes it easy to identify each of the 10 shades within, with additional shades the likes of 85 Tamarin and 95 Moka coming later in 2022.

You can also expect two refillable compact powders, designed in the tradition of the Rose Hermès blush cases. There’s the radiant glow powder and radiant matte powder (SGD136 each), both infused with white mulberry extract and emollients.

The former, a universal illuminator in a subtle golden pink, can be used to highlight and refresh the cheekbones, temples, nose bridge and cupid’s bow. The latter, a translucent powder, can be used to set makeup or to mattify shine throughout the day.

A face powder brush (SGD203) has also been designed to elevate the application of the powders. Hand assembled by a French brush-maker, the lacquered wooden brush features ultra-soft natural goat hair fibres in a generous rounded shape to pick up and deposit just the right amount of powder.

Lastly, the fanciest blotting papers (SGD63) you’ve ever laid your eyes on. Made with a blend of hemp fibres, wood pulp and soft kozo fibres from the mulberry tree, the facial blotters are each decorated with a water mark of small, airy H logos. Each sheet is designed to cover larger areas such as the forehead in a single gesture, and can be patted on the nose or chin, or anywhere you need to absorb shine. It even comes in a little box in the brand’s iconic orange hue for use on the go.

Excited? The Plein Air collection will be available from 1 March 2022 at Hermès boutiques, their beauty counters within Takashimaya Department Store and TANGS at Tang Plaza, as well as online via Hermès Singapore.
