Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2021 menswear show centred around the theme of the Tourist vs Purist, with a performance art piece that took the audience on a whimsical adventure around the world. Yes, while that larger-than-life aeroplane bag clearly stole the show, there are more user-friendly pieces for your daily adventures, like the Everyday LV collection that will be the one to watch this season.
All of them are emblazoned with the graphic LOUIS VUITTON! signature splashed right across, and you can expect to find classic silhouettes like the Keepall and Toiletry Pouch, as well as several classic SLGs like cardholders and bifold wallets. You would also spot bags like the Danube and Soft Trunk, along with the men’s version of the Sac Plat XS complete with a chunky chain-and-leather sling.
As its name suggests, the collection revolves around everyday objects that you will be using for daily activities. Thus, you can find quirky (but still very much functional) novelties such as the ‘cat litter’ bag (inspired by grocery shopping) and ‘coffee cup’ sling, both of which are new-in shapes conceived by the Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh. There’s even a carrot-shaped pouch complete with green leather leaves that would make Bugs Bunny go gaga over, except this time it’s meant to be used as a bag charm or an SLG.
While prices have yet to be officially announced, you can start marking your calendars for 9 July 2021 as the #LVMenFW21 collection will be launching at Louis Vuitton boutiques in Singapore then. Selected pieces will also be available online, as usual, so you should start making plans right now to avoid missing out.
