A little known fact about Chanel’s pre-collections? It gives you a sneak peek of what you can expect from the upcoming main line-ups, and these perforated calfskin flap bags are the perfect representation of just that. A key highlight for Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2021 collection would be the metallic flap bags that come in a unique grid pattern, done using an intricate process where diamond-shaped pieces are carefully removed to create a beautiful open-worked look. The brass plates are then moulded under high temperature to form the iconic Classic Flap shape, giving you a never-before-seen design that will be launching at Chanel from March 2021.

But for now, you can feast your eyes on a simpler (but still very much chic) design that’s now available in the current pre-collection. It features a similar grid pattern done on perforated calfskin, and each bag will be sold together with an inner pouch (printed fabric for Red and black tweed for Metallic Gold) to keep your essentials out of sight if you need them to be.

The one in metallic gold, in particular, is a clear nod to the S/S2021 version, but you can also consider the red if you’re up for a bold bright hue. Both bags are priced at SGD6380 each, measuring 21 cm wide and 14 cm high with a pretty roomy depth of 7 cm that’s perfectly sized to hold that inner pouch. Yes, the pouch is also removable if that’s something on your mind, so you will also be getting a smaller CC logo pouch that can be used on its own like a cool clutch or cosmetic case as well. Which just adds to its fun and versatility too, don’t you think?
